Distinguished former volleyball player Udeni Priyadarshani Wijethunga has been selected as the chairperson of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVB) selection committee.

Priyadarshani rose to reputation in the late 1990s as a highly skilled volleyball athlete and has represented Sri Lanka in several international tournaments. She also served as the captain of the Sri Lanka national women’s volleyball team and was a member of the squad that gained the gold medal at the South Asian Games 1991 in Colombo.
This year’s selection committee is prominent for including three female members, reflecting a growing importance on gender representation in Sri Lankan volleyball administration. 

The full committee comprises Priyadharshani Wijethunga (chairperson), E.M.L.C. Ekanayaka (Member), R.J.M.K.L.P. Jayawardana (Member), Mangalika Wasanthi Kumari (Member) and Palith Napagoda (Member).
