It is noteworthy that Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have been dropped from the squad.
Fakhar Zaman, who suffered a foot injury in the West Indies, has been named in the squad as he has recovered from his injury.
Salman Agha will lead the 17-member squad. The same players from this squad are also scheduled to play in the tri-nation Twenty20 tournament to be held with the United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan before the Asia Cup.
The Asia Cup to be held in the United Arab Emirates is scheduled to begin on September 9.
