The second rugby match between Sri Lanka Rugby Team and New Zealand Under 85kg Rugby Team was held at the Colombo Racecourse yesterday (10) evening.
The New Zealand team won yesterday’s match by 06 goals to 32.
A New Zealand Rugby Team is touring Sri Lanka after 119 years, and the first match of this tour was held at the Nittawela Stadium in Kandy on last (May 4).
The New Zealand team easily won the match by a score of 50-10.
It is also noteworthy that this tournament is being organized at a time when the Sri Lanka Rugby Federation is under the Ministry of Sports.
The event was attended by Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Sunil Kumaragamage, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Overseas Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath, Sri Lanka High Commissioner to New Zealand David Pyne, Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs Eranga Gunasekara, and Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Chathuranga Abeysinghe.
