Madushani Herath of Nannapurawa MV Bibile once again came to the highpoint when she set up a new long lump record with a leap of 6.32m at girls under 20 categories of the Junior National Athletic championship penultimate day, yesterday at Diyagama Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium. She wipe away her own record of 6.06m at last year’s Junior Nationals at this same location.
In the meantime Sashini Perera of St Bridget’s s Convent Colombo established a new meet record at under 16 Hammer Throw having 30.42m achievement.
Sayuri Mendis of Sri Lanka Navy outshined in under 23, 400m girls event also set up a new meet record with a time of 54.20 seconds.
Tharuka Dhananjaya of Sri Lak AC set up a new meet record in under 23 Javelin Throw with 70.86m throw and Shanika Lakshani of Sri Lanka Army established under 23 women’s 1500m new record with 4.30.00 seconds.
