The Kandy District 6 Ball Snooker tournament was settled with success at the Pyramid Snooker Parlour (PSP) billiards table in Kandy where 21 cueists was in action to battle it out for the four slots to qualify for the All Island tournament which is the next qualifying tournament.   

The 21 cueists included the majority from Pyramid Snooker Parlour of 17 players, YMBA Kandy three and Gampola Shooter BC one.   

The contest was closely fought out where M.G. Khalid of Pyramid Snooker Parlour came out triumphant when he defeated his club mate M.M.M. Haneef by three frames to nil in the final.   

In the two semi-final meetings it was a contest between four players from BWB with Khalid overcoming A. Basith in a hotly contested game by three frames to two and Haneef getting the better of M.M. Shaakir by three frames to one.   

Four players from each of the four district tournaments will qualify to play in the next qualifying tournament which is the All Island Lanka Plate and the 6 Red Ball Snooker Nationals planned to be held after the conclusion of the Colombo district tournament slotted to be played from July 21.
