Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi has firmly stated that the trophy will not be handed over to the winners of the Asia Cup, India, until they personally receive it from him.

He had posted on his X (Twitter) account, saying, “As the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), I was ready to hand over the trophy on the same day. Still ready. If they really want it, they can come to the ACC office and take it from me.”

Naqvi issued this statement in response to a news report in the Indian media that he had apologized to the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
“The Indian media is fed by lies, not facts. I will make this very clear; I have done nothing wrong. And I have not apologised to the Board of Control for Cricket in India, and I will never apologise.”

The ACC met in Dubai on Tuesday, but failed to reach a resolution on the issue of presenting the trophy and medals to Suryakumar Yadav’s team.

After the Asia Cup final on Sunday, India refused to receive the trophy from Pakistan Cricket Board chairman and Pakistan’s interior minister, Naqvi.

Accordingly, the Asian Cricket Council refused to hand it over, and India celebrated their victory at the stadium without the trophy or medals.
