Sri Lankan golfer Haroon Aslam over in 19th place at the MEDCO-Pondok Indah International Amateur Golf Championship held in Indonesia. Out of 65 competitors, Aslam established with a score of nine over par.
On the par-72 course, Aslam on-going with a round of 76. He then bounced back with a solid 72 on the second day, but ended with a 77 in the final round, totaling 225. This score tied him with Indonesia’s Rafa Tanjung, who also over with a 225, but Tanjung placed 18th.
“Competing in Indonesia against some of the best amateurs in Southeast Asia was an incredible experience. I gained many valuable insights into my game, predominantly on Bermuda greens, which were a significant challenge,” said Aslam.
He added, “This tournament has been a significant learning opportunity, and I am grateful for the experience and development it provided. I also want to thank Sri Lanka Golf for this amazing opportunity and hope to apply the lessons I’ve learned to my upcoming tournaments.”
The Men’s title was settled by Indonesia’s Rayahan Abdul Latief, who scored 69, 70, and 70 for a total of 209, seven under par
