Sharif Hakeem of the Sri Lanka Air Force and national champion Yeheni Kuruppu emerged as the winners of the Men’s Open and Women’s Open Championships, correspondingly, at the YETI Open Squash Championship, organised by Sri Lanka Squash, concluded at the Air Force Squash Centre in Ratmalana.

In the Men’s Open category, Nevindu Lakman was the runner-up, while Viduranga Udantha of the Sri Lanka Air Force protected third place. In the Women’s Open category, Adhithi Gunasekara of Ladies’ College was the runner-up, with Anargi Perera of Visakha Vidyalaya taking third place.

The Boys Under-19 title was demanded by Mathesha Wijesekara of Royal College, who defeated Vishan Ranatunga of Gateway College. Tharul Pinwatta of Royal College secured third place. In the Girls Under-19 category, Adhithi Gunasekara of Ladies’ College triumphed over Ranliya Wood of Lindsay Girls School in the final, while Ashendri Mendis took third place.

Tharul Pinwatta of Royal College also won the Boys Under-17 Championship, with Mohammed Rilwan of St. Joseph’s College as the runner-up. Manuth Dassanayake of Gateway College secured third place. In the Girls Under-17 segment, Christine Wickramasinghe of Ladies’ College settled the title by defeating Ifra Booso of St. Paul’s Milagiriya, with Punsara Wickramasinghe of Anula Vidyalaya taking third place.

In the Men’s Plate Championship, Sri Lanka Army’s LK Ekanayake emerged victorious, with MH Udayanga as the runner-up. The Men’s Over 50 title was clinched by SM Cader, with Mewan Rajeeve as the runner-up and Dhammika Wijesundara, the President of Sri Lanka Squash, securing third place.

SM Cader also won the Men’s Over 45 category, with Dulip Hewawitharana of the Sri Lanka Air Force as the runner-up and Ian Herft in third place. Ravi Fernando clinched the Men’s Over 40 Championship by beating Shehan Ranatunga in the final, while Dinusha Priyadarshana of the Sri Lanka Navy protected third place.

In the Men’s Over 35 age group, AS de Silva of the Sri Lanka Air Force appeared victorious, incapacitating Airman GM Methsiri in the final, while MR Dissanayake of the Sri Lanka Army secured third place.
