First time in history, insurance was provided for school rugby players

Today, for the first time in history, insurance was provided for school rugby players.

It was chaired by Sports Minister Harin Fernando at the Havelock sports belt in Colombo.

Under 19 and Under 16 age group rugby players in rugby schools are entitled to this insurance.

Also, for the betterment of the Rugby Referee Association, a financial grant of 50 lakh rupees was made for the improvement of their training and skills as well as for the improvement of technology.

The Minister also officially handed over the Henry Pedris Stadium to Colombo Isipathana College.
