Former Isipathana skipper, national player, and one of the leading referees created by the country, Dilroy Fernando, has been appointed as the new Match Official Manager by Asia Rugby (AR).
With over 20 years of broad experience in match officiating, coaching, and performance reviewing, Fernando has a distinguished record, including officiating a record 25 Bradby Shield encounters throughout his time as the undefeated Isipathana skipper in 1982.
His international experience consists of delivering World Rugby-accredited courses in over 20 countries, underscoring his dedication to the sport on a global scale.
Amongst his many roles, Fernando has held honorary positions such as President of the Sri Lanka Society of Rugby Football Referees, Chairman of Rugby at Isipathana College, and Chairman of Rugby at the Ceylonese Rugby and Football Club.
