Dilhani Lekamge, a Javelin thrower and a silver medalist at the Hangzhou Asian Games, has been appointed captain of the Sri Lanka Athletic Team for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
The 37-year-old, a past student of Mahinda College, Eheliyagoda, is the senior member of the contingent. Lekamge, who has won medals at various international events, is also expected to be named the overall captain of the Sri Lankan team.
The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka will confirm the appointment tomorrow (9).
