The Indian Cultural Association (ICA) will organize the second annual ICA International Half-Marathon on 14 December in Colombo.

Building on the accomplishment of its opening edition, which saw over 1,400 participants from 20 nations, this year’s event goals further to strengthen the bond of the global running community. 

Observing to bring together a larger community of local and international runners in a shared spirit of health, unity, and community participation.

The standard rate registrations are now start and will close on 30 November and then move to the late registrations category, with increased fees commencing from 1-13 December. 

The standard entry fees for the event are as follows: Family Run (5 km) – Rs. 2,500; Challengers Run (10 km) – Rs. 3,500; and the Half-Marathon (21 km) – Rs. 6,000. All registered participants will receive a medal, a Carnage T-shirt, and a certificate endorsed by the Indian High Commission, the Indian Cultural Association, and supporting organisations. The ICA International Half-Marathon will offer a total prize pool of Rs. 5,700,000 (approximately USD 18,550), with the overall winner set to receive Rs. 1,000,000 (approximately USD 3,280). Cash awards will be given to the top ten male and female finishers in each category, aiming to recognise achievement and encourage participation from both local and international athletes.

ICA President Captain Anirban Banerjee, speaking of the event, stated, “At the ICA International Half-Marathon, our focus is to create an event that benefits both participants and the host community. This initiative backings health and fitness while also encouraging cross-cultural understanding and lasting friendships. Once again this year, we will be distributing the ICA self-pledging organ donation card to motivate participants to donate their organs, thereby contributing to the well-being of the larger community.”
