The 2025 World University Games are scheduled to be held in Germany from July 16th to 27th this year. It is expected to be held with the participation of about 8500 athletes from over 150 countries. Three athletes from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura have qualified to represent Sri Lankan universities in the table tennis event.
Accordingly, Virunaka Hendahewa, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and Lahiru Tharanga, a first-year student of the same faculty, have qualified for the men’s table tennis team. Similarly, Dilmi Kolombage, a third-year student of the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, has qualified for the women’s table tennis team.
For qualifying for this special opportunity, we extend our warmest congratulations to all of them on behalf of the entire university community, J’pura Flames, and wish them the ability to achieve achievements that will bring glory to this country and the mother university.
