Dinara de Silva has set her eyes on echoing the outstanding performance she displayed at the last national championship after she caught the Under 18 girls singles title with a straight set victory in the age group final of the 109th National Tennis Championship at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts on Wednesday.
The St. Bridget’s Convent player is the shielding champion of the women’s singles and yesterday’s victory was her second consecutive Under 18 title.
She beat Nesangi Hemakumara of Elizabeth Moir School 6-2, 6-2 in the final.
In the women’s singles, the top seed has reached the last 16 with a 6-2, 6-3 victories over Leyla Knese.
She is set to meet Tania Doloswala in the last 16 round.
